Aging in Place — Planning Today for a Stronger Tomorrow
Most older adults in Alberta want the same thing — to remain living safely, independently, and comfortably in the homes and communities they love for as long as possible. Aging in Place is about making that possible.
Join us for an engaging one-hour presentation that explores how older adults can stay connected, supported, healthy, and independent while continuing to live where they feel most at home. Presented through the lens of Healthy Aging Alberta, this session will help participants better understand the practical, emotional, social, and community supports that contribute to healthy aging.
Together we will explore:
What “Aging in Place” really means
Why planning ahead matters before a crisis happens
Simple ways to maintain independence and quality of life
The importance of social connections and community support
Transportation, housing, wellness, and in-home support options
How social prescribing and community programs can reduce isolation and improve well-being
Small changes that can help people remain safely in their homes longer
This presentation is designed to be informative, encouraging, and empowering — helping older adults recognize that aging well is not something we do alone. Strong communities, meaningful connections, and access to the right supports all play an important role in helping people thrive as they age.
Whether you are planning for yourself, supporting a loved one, or simply curious about what resources and opportunities are available in Alberta communities, this session will provide valuable ideas, practical information, and hope for the future.
Come discover how planning, connection, and community can help make aging in place not just possible — but meaningful and fulfilling. June 2 @ 2 PM at the Sundre Community Centre.
